Fuel solenoid Fail stopping fuel flow Not fitted to all mowers Intake manifold Leak causing engine surging. I really think Im missing something here as there is defiantly fuel getting to the carb the jets are clear no restricted air flow and there is a good spark.
We even have an occasional cutomer with no fuel in the tank.
No fuel getting to engine. Other possible causes of your lack of fuel issue could be the fuel injectors or an electrical problem. If the fuel injector fuses are blown due to a wiring issue this may cause your problem. A clicking noise can be heard from each injector when they are working properly.
Why is there no fuel getting to the engine. If the fuel injector fuse s are blown due to a wiring issue this may cause your problem. A clicking noise can be heard from each injector when they are working properly.
I would recommend having a technician from YourMechanic try to start your vehicle with starter fluid. Hello and thank you for contacting YourMechanic. A plugged-up fuel filter will cause an engine not not start.
Get a fuel pressure tester and hook it up to the fuel rail. There should be a shrader valve on the fuel rail that you can hook the tester up to. Turn on the key.
With the engine off and key on there should be 45 to 60 PSI on the gauge. If fuel is not getting into the carburetor I suspect the problem is in the needle and seat. To access the needle and seat you have to remove the float bowl.
Then pull the hinge pin that secures the float. Be careful the needle is attached to the float. Once the needle is removed the fuel should start coming out.
Timing is correct plugs are DRY. Its obvious that im not getting fuel when i can spray fuel through the intake of the carb and it will run but when thats burned up it cuts off. There is no fuel going to the engine if i can spray fuel straight to the engine and it starts and if i do not spray fuel.
I really think Im missing something here as there is defiantly fuel getting to the carb the jets are clear no restricted air flow and there is a good spark. It does only really leave compression however I would expect to at least smell fuelwet plug after cranking for a while with no ignition but not even thats happening. Sometimes if your engine isnt getting enough fuel the culprit could be your fuel pressure regulator a fuel leak a clogged fuel filter or clogged injectors.
There are 2 reasons that we are going to check spark before we see if your engine is getting fuel. To check spark we are going to pull the spark plug if the spark plug is wet there is a good indication we ARE getting fuel. If the plug is dry and we have spark we are not getting fuel.
There was no gas in the carb when it was stored actually it was cleaned somewhat before i took my motor apart. But i did have the carb off yesterday and the main and pilot jet seemed to be clean i put them to my mouth and blew threw them and held them to light to see any debris in them. What parts of the carb play a role in delivering fuel when starting.
I will prlly check the carb again. Fuel filter Block or slow fuel flow to the engine. Pump Fail causing a no start Not fitted to all mowers Carburetor Block under fuel and over fuel causing no start or poor running.
Fuel solenoid Fail stopping fuel flow Not fitted to all mowers Intake manifold Leak causing engine surging. And when i try starting the engine the plug doesnt get wet at all but if i put dab of petrol down the hole it fires up and revs like mad then dies The only things i bought changed on the engine are only a new carb and airbox as the old carb leaked badly and couldnt fix it. A closed fuel valve a faulty antisyphon valve a bad fuel line or a clogged fuel filter can prevent fuel from reaching the carburetor.
We even have an occasional cutomer with no fuel in the tank. A bad fuel pump can also prevent fuel from reaching the carb. Fuel injected engines are VERY fussy about fuel supply and fuel pressure.
When these valves fail to work the fuel cant leave the fuel tank because it creates a vacuum lock as theres no air coming in to replace the lost fuel. The obvious effect this has on the engine is less fuel getting into the carburettor which can contribute to the engine bogging down and eventually it will cause the engine to stop completely. Well you are still not getting gas.
When you took the carb off did you take out the AirFuel mixture to clean that out as well. If you did you may have screwed it back in and screwed it in to much and now it is to LEAN and or RICH. Also check the Vacuum hose from your intake to make sure it is connected either to the Petcock or a T connection.
In order for an engine to start running the carburetor must have a supply of fuel. In many cases with small engines there will appear to be gas when in actuality none is getting to the engine. Try rocking the engine back and forth to listen for fuel sloshing.
If you have a gas canister try filling the tank up and giving it another shot. I have a ttr125 I just rebuilt the top end and I was trying to start it last night and it would not start except a couple times it fired up when I put my hand over the carb but it didnt last long the spark plug is new and getting spark I tested it on the side of the engine and its getting gas to the bowl because its pouring out of overflow and I took the carb and and cleaned it and tried. No flashes from the injector circuit when cranking the engine.
Would tell you the PCM is not pulsing the injectors. On newer gasoline direct injection GDI systems however a NOID light is no help. If the injectors appear to be working but the engine will not start.
The engine may be flooded. As a result you may have to remove the spark. Clean the spark plug.
A lawn mower not starting doesnt necessarily mean the fuel is not reaching the engine or spark plug. The problem could be that the spark plug is loose dirty or faulty in some way. To fix this problem and make the mower start remove the spark plug clean off any debris and return it.
If the pump has seized in the zero fuel position then fuel will not be able to get through the pump to the injectors when doing the bleed cycle. It is possible for either the rack to be stuck in the pump or an element will be stuck which will be preventing the rack from moving. Why is your golf cart not getting fuel.
A golf cart can be starving for fuel because of old gas in the engine or because the flow of gas to the fuel tank is blocked. If the engine was running smooth until a few days ago then it can be presumed that there is no glitch with the engine. Some of the possible causes are stated below.
All engines need three things to start and work properly spark fuel and compression if one of these three factors have a defect then youll never have smooth running for your engine so if you have your engine unable to start you have to check some points such as security system fuel level spark plugs status cylinder compression is good enough to compress the fuel crankshaft angle and finally. Turns over but no gas to engine. Just replaced fuel pump and filter.
Now car will turn over but sounds a though no gas is getting to engine. Can hear fuel pump priming when I turn the key. I am checking fuel lines for leaks and checking for spark while I await your answer.
Located p cock on fuel rail and no gas spurted.
