Any Johnson outboard motor built since 1964 requires a 501 fuel ratio. Motors built prior to that date require a 321 ratio with the exception of a few fishing motors built prior to 1955 that use a 161 ratio. Johnson outboard motors are two-cycle engines.

The easy way to figure it out especially if you have an odd number say 35 litres of gas is to double the number of litres and add a zero an extra decimal place to get the number of millilitres of oil you need.

If you have a rebuilt or reconditioned oil injected two stroke outboard excluding Evinrude ETEC or Mercury Optimax then youll just need to add 501 to your fuel and let the oil injection system add the rest of the oil to make up the balance to get to 251.
