Using twice the recommended dosage will keep fuel fresh for up to 24 months so putting in twice the amount shouldnt cause any problems at all at least if you use Stabil cottom 30 Mar 2005.
Can you use too much fuel stabiliser. Yeah too much might not be good. The problem is not knowing how much is too much.
Im guessing that if youre off by a couple ounces in a 30 gallon tank of gas youll probably be okay. But if you dump a quart of the stuff into a gallon of gas youll possibly have problems. Dont throw it out in case its okay to use.
Dump it into a gas can and if its okay you can put it back in. Or you can dilute it and put it back in. Or dilute it and use it in the lawnmower or snowblower if you are cursed enough to live where one is necessary.
If its StaBil it might not be such an issue because its just a stabilizer. This is the first year I decided to put fuel stabilizer in the tank the years before I never did it. I do not know what I was thinking when I put it in there.
Long Story short - I added way to much into the tank roughly 35-4 times more - into an almost full gas. So it is time to stabilize the fuel. Can you actually put too much in.

Basically a stabilizer prevents the breakdown of fuel during extended periods of storage. Too Much depends on how much.
You typically use only an ounce per tank. You could easily double or triple or even 10x that and cause no harm. 10oz of additive into a 15 gallon tank results in just 05 - nothing that will cause any real harm.
